Early off with the writing process I was in drag moods nonstop, to the point where I had no drive to do anything musically. I literally had to force myself to start creating, but once I got into a groove I was at peace. I recognized this, and started writing "Down I Go," I started sculpting sounds based off a certain mood that I was in or an emotion I may have felt at the time. I came up with this certain atmosphere that was dark, sad, and sort of beautiful at the same time. "Falling. Fading. Down, down, down I go." I immediately said this one had to go out with a bang, as if I was begging for an escape. Honestly, this was me at my lowest, but when I listen to it, and now that I'm happy, I'm at peace with it. The concept may be depressing, but when I hear this track, it's a reminder that I'm never going back. A perfect start to the record.
